Max Martin lived in Bible St., Eltham from 1950-1965. His life as an artist, set designer and theatrical performer is revealed in Irish born gallerist Jeremy Hill’s entertaining and richly illustrated account of an overlooked artist despite his representation in 3 major institutional Australian galleries. Read about Martin’s unique achievements as a painter,  cartoonist, ballet master and 1950s peace campaigner, and Hill’s discovery of a lost masterpiece Witchcraft. Art expert Ronald Millar contributes critical essays on  3 major paintings  including  the above Portrait of the Artist (1963).
